Boards on bridges 🖼

We’ve got some lazy rivers near me. I’ve been dreaming of a way to waterproof and float my board in an inner tube behind me like 15 miles downriver, get out, deflate both tubes, and skate back up to my car. I have an inflatable paddleboard that it may be able to sit on but that thing gets heavy on my back when stowed in its backpack. Skating with it would be a workout.

If you do this please get pictures of people’s reaction when they see a badass EMTB floating on an tube behind a paddle board.

It’s a pretty easy build to replicate if you can get your hands on 4x ~5:1 ratio gear drives that can handle the abuse you intend

The new 520 and old I90 floating bridges during carve. Some of my favorite night ride paths but during the day.

I love those bridges!

My brother’s turtle power build gets all the attention but im diggin the bustin low speed carving. Swapped the baseplates to 43° but im thinking i want even less in the back. Gonna see what f i can’t find a compatible 30° or similar. Probably max speed is only 26mph but feels solid wedged -3° front and -10° rear. Still u turns on a bike trail so plenty playful just want to slide the back out a little less so it’s more intentional feeling when i lose traction

More oh-so-charming New England. The plaque on the bridge says that the bridge was built to accommodate passage of “a load of hay, high and wide”.
