Avio mk2 on evolve gen3 carbon gt

I am hearing the siren call of DIY since I want a gear driven board and can’t afford to have someone else build it for me. My question is can I do this (use the mk2s) with the stock motors? The belt drive gear is removable it seems so will the shaft work? I have learned that the trucks (assuming both) need to be changed (kahuna will work with the board?) and want the bergmister AT low profile wheel setup (these will fit the evolve it seems). Thanks in advance for your help and forbearance.

@avX

There’s three things you need to verify.

  • Your motors have 8mm diameter shafts
  • you cut your shaft length to fit inside the gear drives
  • it has the standard mounting pattern

Afaik evolve motors arent 63xx and hence wont have a 44mm mounting pattern.

You could however change out the whole power system (motors, transmission, trucks, wheels).

You might get wheel-bite if you use DKP trucks on that board. You should check if others have done similar setups (similar width RKP trucks and AT wheels) before to be sure.

Or, you could do what I did and make a baseplate extender.

Check out my Challenger build for how i did it, many ways to skin a cat (:

Thanks so much. I think i might swap out the motors and use the SK3’s.

I think i might use the sk3 motors instead.

Actually will get the whole kit from Avio. I am embarrassed to ask and here goes, do I need to buy the bergmiester wheels for the front?
