Hard to tell what’s what in that pic but as an outrunner is designed normally the air will come out the back opposite the shaft and design it to facilitate that. Centrifugal force is the mechanism.

I’ve never heard of a motor half filled with oil. If the motor is sealed ferrofluid is often used, oil with ferromagnetic parts and it sits between the magnets and teeth.

You want straight cut axial blades at the end of your can, it works good and doesn’t counter the airflow from the motor.

There might even be already available models to print.
