I do think itās crazy they wonāt let you through with more than 3oz or so of water but a 99wh lipo or a bag of themā¦ Those are literally quite explosive (potentially) ā¦ maybe thereās reasons.
On the other hand it would be great if we could travel with our packs and not have to abide by the UN 38.3 specs.
Guess is they would just end all business travel if people werenāt permitted to carry lithium based batteries at all (no laptops, no phones, no cameras, who the hell would still fly if that was the rule). Other things about checking shoes and water and whatever are probably mostly security theatre and maybe a way to sell you a Coke on the plane.
