Pro tip, aluminum foil around the parts you don’t want to get hot.
Helps till some point.

I’ve gotten the 10mm D shaft myself and actually enjoyed using them. The only downside I’ve noticed is that there’s not too many options for D shaft motors. Other than that, it’s quite solid. You can’t fit this on trampa, so if you have their crap, stick with the 8mm.

I’m honored, thanks! Great replies to everyone in this thread, especially @Boardnamics , @Arzamenable , @Andy87 !!

False, rim bolts bend! :joy:

Yeah that chain is not going to break first. Is that an 8 or 10mm motor shaft?

Edit: clearly a 10 or 12

Edit Edit: for me, the idler pulley would almost always be what popped if something was to go. Lots of support bearings in my wheel pulleys (3 each: one 6900, and two 6000’s per pulley):metal:

Loose belts for debris absorbing safety prayers:

Hey this thread is pretty old but i think it’s worth revisiting. Has anyone done a comparison with the different shafts or just skated on both. ? I’m currently running flipskys 10mm dshaft on 6374s. Got hundreds of miles on them no issues yet.
