I agree, cycling causes more wear than calendar aging (just sitting around) and higher charge voltages = shorter life but a touch longer run times. Not worth it IMO.

Some time vs charge level/temp graphs for capacity loss and internal resistance gain for the same chemistry cells we use, NMC and NCA. “Very warm” cells age at least twice as fast as cells at room temp. This is when being used or at rest.
If they get hot, over about 70°C-80°C internally (can be MUCH cooler externally) then the liquid inside starts breaking down and exothermic chemical reactions start that can lead to thermal runaway (fire) if the heat can’t escape.
