3D Printing Discussions, Questions and Debugging

Seems like a decent idea, I would imagine that some of them can deal with the warmth, you’d just want to look out for wherever your printer’s power supply is since those are so well sealed. Some people run printers in enclosures with the power supply with no issues, I’ve heard others have had problems

good point. there are usually multiple outlet ducts on these tents so you could, i guess, rig an extractor fan and some duct to where the psu is just to dissipate the heat a bit…or if its underneith then make cut-out on the table it’s on to expose the PSU to cooler air

Ya that’s true that could work

Yeah some people recommend photo tents
Same principal I think

Yah I built enclosure out of wood worked well also added a separate enclosure heater element and thermostat basically to it. After that decided it was too much of a fire risk and went with building shelves out of EMT and some painted steel sheets and printed parts to hold things together, no longer ABS friendly but I feel safer about fire situation.

Basically suggest put fire suppressor or at least alarm near by if doing some pretty flammable enclosure or just giving a potential electric fire more fuel.

Gonna use a smoke detector

Probably gonna use plexiglass and some pla printed parts and hopefully can get abs working with no warping

2 z axis would be better for stability tho

What is the underlying bed made of?
If it’s glass, I’d try a razor blade.
If it’s plastic, you’re stuck with solvents, but you have to find one that will dissolve ABS but not whatever the bed is.

Not really sure
Def not glass but doesn’t feel or look like plastic

a picture is worth a thousand word. I think people in general prefer not to read a 1000 words :stuck_out_tongue:

I put a 1 meter xt60 extender on and solved all my warping issues. I want to try also having a heated enclosure to see if there is a further improvement with abs and such.

Lastly I added that switch to make it silent when idle.

Sure sorry

I made a batch of abs juice which ended to thick (shouldn’t have used it :grimacing:)

Bottom right is good abs juice

I know
Ordered a new bed but only coming soon

Acetone should take it off. Especially if you pour a bit and put it in a giant ziploc bag. Once soggy, you can pour some more and wipe it clean.

Perfect thanks so much

about to finish the upgrade to the titan aero and have 2 questions
first i am getting this error when uploading

second what test can i do to make sure everything is running smoothly once i upload the new firmware
thank you very much

Try running in administrator mode. After running you would treat it as a new printer and proceed like so. I always recommend following a video tutorial for firmware stuff.
