Weird brake problem at high speeds

Ever sense I got my board I have had an issue where if I am going over about 18MPH and I slightly push the breaks, the board “jolts” really hard and then breaks like normal. When it does this it is unpredictable how hard it will do it, and as a result, it is hard to stay on the board. I am running evolve electronics with a 10s4p battery. All battery groups are where they should be.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? It is not like I tuned the esc wrong or something because you cant tune them in the first place. I looked all over and cant seem to find anyone else who has had this issue.
If you turn the sound on in this video you can hear what I am talking about.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is an Evolve ESC, not a VESC, right?

Yes, sorry.

My guess is that is from the ESC applying a full motor brake until the battery regen amount shoots up too high, then it starts throttling the motor brakes to control the battery regen.

But that’s a guess. I think that’s just how Evolve electronics work.

I’ve not personally used the Evolve R2 remote though, only the prior versions.

Thats a dumb design. Makes sense though because if is worse at lower battery. Do you know of any way to fix it?
