I’m not sure the best place to post this/ask these questions (and am happy to repost if there’s a better location). I’m potentially looking to sell parts and/or the entire board for the two boards below (and pictured):
Evolve Carbon GT
- Primarily wondering if all the parts would even be worth anything more than $100-$200? If not, I’m inclined to just give it away locally (San Francisco). I still have the battery for this board but it’s been on its last legs for years and am likely to just recycle it at this point. As such, I’m leaning towards parts only for this one. I haven’t rode this much in the past 3 years since getting the Metroboard.
Metroboard X22
This has been my primary board for the past 3 years. It’s had a few issue along the way.
The “roboglow” device that powers the lights no longer works. I replaced this once already and the 2nd one crapped out. I’m guessing this is the reason Metroboard stopped putting lights on these before they went out of business.
Just recently (which is really the reason I’m looking to sell), if I gun it aggressively off the line, the power sometimes cuts out for a split second (after initially accelerating). If you’re under hard acceleration however, it’s enough to potentially throw you off the board. At this point I just can’t trust the board and don’t have the patience or knowledge to diagnose/fix.
Considerations for me:
- Beyond the issues above, the board is still in pretty good shape.
- However parts for the board look dirt cheap on Mboards site (who took over the remaining inventory from Metroboard).
- I don’t love the idea of selling used batteries of this size for liability reasons. Am I the only one who worries about this? For this reason I’m leaning towards parting the board out versus selling it as-is. And just recycling the battery.
