Dad, I wanna try it.
Cover me in bubble wrap and launch me straight into the sun, please
mom said it’s my turn on the xboooooxxxx
Yeah that thing is insane, i think you made the first board to feel torque steer.
Yes the ecoble et is consistently the most unreliable board i have. It also gives me way way too many power cuts. The gear drive, motors, and battery have stood almost 5000 miles. By turning it into another board, should make it safer.
As safe as a flipsky esc can be
My 2 year old loves going on a good morning ride on this thing. We still building confidence for the 100mph attempt…
Still building confidence, 40mph is about tops for me, i might push 50 but probbaly no more than that.
This thing is legit a fun ride, i am surprised by the lack of temp issues, im pumping these motor pretry goos with amps they are 245kv, but they seem to be taking it like champs Solos also dont seem to mind the higher than usual draw.
Oh and i downsized from 7" to 6" tires…much better torque
Looks like 38mph is 39% duty cycle, so I’m assuming 95% duty cycle is something like 93mph.
7’s gotta go back on for the 100mph run?
Correct! 7” min for 100mph yeah
It would be pretty interesting to see which tires even hold together for 100mph. That’s some serious speed, and you don’t want to end up like the nextboard guys where they lost their thane from the hub at somewhere around 60mph. Also you would need absolutely perfect balancing.
I kinda want to see it spun up unloaded to 100mph and see if the tires explode or how much they balloon. I’m guessing the tires will expand in size so much that the 6" will do 100mph once you account for it’s actual diameter when spinning that fast.
But also not sure how happy the Solos are if you spin high ERPMs unloaded, I am not super familiar with them. Some other high voltage ESCs however really don’t like spinning unloaded.
We spun up some kendas to 100 a little while ago, they ballooned quite a bit.
I will do a full unloaded spin test this week and post a video, Solo generally does ok unloaded up to 245kv, even 300kv survived a few full throttle unloaded 18s spins, but eventually i blew one Solo on that set up. We will see how it goes in the next day or two, il post a video!
There was very minimal balooning on the 6" novas
Although not ground breaking it did do 0-20 in 1.54 with @poastoast at the wheel. This is pretty cool because its geared for 100mph…not a slouch in the torque department at all
When u get to big fast boards power/weight is a factor. I’m pretty sure the last speed record was a lighter more downhill inspired deck. I wonder how the weight will effect stability and readability at that kinda speed. U prly wanna get an airbag suit if ur pushing 100mph💀. Good luck!
I had an unfortunate accident that pretty much destroyed all the mechanical parts on my Mod board this weekend at the ERL, and i was also using that board in Pro. So the only other board i had with me was my 100mph Mag and i wasnt going to not skate, so for the lulz i tossed a binding on the front and came in dead last in pro
However even with its incredibly inefficient gearing i mannaged to best out my best time from the precious days qualification.
I got 29.04 on the Mod board
And by the end of the weekend was consistently getting 28.8 on the 100mph Mag which is waaaaay dope! Granted this is 4 seconds slower than the rest of the pros
but im closing this gap with every event!
a bit off topic but saw a 100mph+ race scooter, perhaps those motors can be also transformed into race esk8s
They are doing races in France, not sure why its popular there lol.
