My oldest and shittst evolve boards have got worn pivots on the trucks, new pivot cup bushes are still sloppy. I’ve tried epoxy, no good. Wrapping the pins in cotton thread and adding super glue: Not bad.
Yesterday I bought a roll of TPU, and this morning printed a pivot cup bush with increased wall thickness. I believe this constitutes am both shitty and DIY.
Good question. They seem good in the living room, but durability will be the variable. I had to stand on the board to seat them, figured too tight is alright.
They’re softer than the $1.50 generic cups from the local store which are hard as hell so probably a good thing. Given DKP’s fuck pivot cups at the best of times, and the quantity of DKP boards I’ve accumulated, I’m optimistic so far.
I guess if I really wanna know durability, maybe I should do barrel n cone bushes. Then I can barrel into the bushes for a cone while they’re printing.
I have actually printed my own pivot cups for ronins. Well, for the queen pin in them not the main pivot point, so it’s for an anti slop thing. I’d be better off buying the tune up kit for them which is 30$ but it’s only stocked state side, so would be 100$ when it gets here and I don’t ride them that much…
The printed ones aren’t really holding well for me, printed in the same orientation as yours, it splits at the layers sometimes. Haven’t properly dried my cheap TPU so maybe with dry and not as cheap filament it would be better.

This speaks to me, just got home from a road trip with 7 boards in the back and a scooter plus gear for three. Everything got used and only one side of the road repair so ill call it a win
Was a 15a originally, 6a charger. Figured out what was popping it too and it was user error. He was using my hokey 10-140v 1700w modded roger charger which doesn’t display amperage correctly - my instructions were clear on how to use it properly but fsr he cranked the amps to max instead of 0 so when he plugged it in it was basically sending 40a charge current until he turned it down (thinking it was at 0 and turning it up).
The knob is clearly labeled why would you assume the label which clearly shows - —-> + on one side of a nob means move the opposite direction. Every time something is made idiot proof… they invent a better idiot
If i build a pack, and i built his battery, it gets a fuse holder. But also i built it to take 30a (. 8c charge rate) charging casually but the bottleneck is the bms. That particular 40a jbd will slowly climb towards 65c at that charge rate because its heatsink isn’t exposed to open air - over about an hour. Cells stay under 35c.
