After seeing the Tantrum build, I had to try 210ās. They feel so stable, but they made my board look like Mr. Incredible ā tiny legs, big upper body.
I threw on 100mm wheels at the same time, which definitely didnāt help the proportions. I wish I had a better picture, but even compared to the 240ās up front, the difference was pretty noticeable.
If you have the base plates and want to try the 210ās first, just DM me anytime.
I like that the pos and neg have different shaped tabs, gonna steal that idea
Ya, looking kinda rough. Post up in the battery builders thread and maybe the group think can help get the kinks worked out of your process there. Imho itās too many close calls and mistakes in too few welds to get all the way through a big ass battery like that without doing something that will waste your efforts or make it fail early.
Immediately i would suggest using something to mark the centers of the welds. I like to use a sharpie or similar round plastic implement to burnish a dent into the nickel - weld once on opposite sides where itās easy to see the target the go over with the backside of the sharpie like making a charcoal or pencil print or an engraving to emboss the cell ends through the nickel. If that doesnāt make sense hit up the battery builders thread and ill make a tutorial for ya.
On very thick nickel or copper i have made a jig to align the welds. If thats too complicated or just a one off arrangement a plastic ruler works well to create center lines too.
I thought they looked familiar. My Lems Boulder Grip boots have been my daily shoe through the winter. Slightly more durable/gripy sole than the Boulder/Telluride, without being stiff and chunky like the Boulder Summit. I like them a lot.
Iām probably going to get a pair of low-top/breathable Lems for the summer, just cant decide which ones. I wish they made more shoes with the Grip sole rather than the blown rubber.
Yeah i have the outlanders for a high top but i wish they had that flat sole.
i have the chelsea boots for work and i wish they had the grip sole they do make a grip sole version of the chelseas so iāll get them when the current ones bite the dust. Iāve been pretty impressed by their longevity as i donāt believe theyāre intended to be an actual work boot.
iāve got the primal eco as a warm weather flat sole, but i barely wear them⦠if its warm enough that i need warm weather shoes, iām typically not wearing shoes
This is the āGripā sole. It itās a lot flatter with more surface area, and itās got slits in the hard rubber so it remains a lot more flexible than the Outlander/Summit sole which is solid.
I think the Grip sole is a lot better for daily use on paved surfaces, as well as for grip tape. The Outlander/Summit sole is probably better for dirt and mud and stuff, but thatās not want I want from a daily shoe.
I really wish they made a low top shoe with the grip sole. The trailblazer is close, but not quite the same. And all those colorways are⦠not to my taste
The 3D printed stencils work okay-ish but I want to try some different technics.
I think I will cut the name in white self-adhesive vinyl. Since I dont owe a vinyl cutter it will take a few weeks to get it cut from the one person I know owning one.
While I am at it I will try to cut and apply it as a sticker and also create a better stencile. You can see on the picture where the stencile got a bit lifted by the pressure of the airbrush.
I also tried jlcpcb for manufacturing the heatsink
Overall the board is far from perfect but Iām really pleased. Big improvement!
By the way: when I started to think about an The Expanse Themen, it was 50:50 if I would go for a belter ship. But the Donnager was just to tempting to not claim
Edith: obviously some needs to do the Razorback next
