At the height of my insanity I am pretty sure there were 14ā¦
So we have in fact seen a significant reduction!!!
You may draw some inspiration from these that came from the onewheel world.
Easier to put on than my padded shortsā¦
Looks like a hard fall.
What happened dude??
I dunno really, I was riding along a broken pavement path when all of a sudden the ground was coming towards me and I was out for about 10-15 min.
I was commended for my good helmet which saved my life but other than that I can only assume I hit a raised bit of ground and my front Hypertruck hanger was too loose so I got into wobbles and the bindings propelled me into a sort of slingshot path towards the ground.
I was taken into hospital where they checked my head, spine and shoulder but found the collarbone to be in four pieces.
I was then operated and now Iām back home with metal in my body.
But all is well and maybe I can go riding again this year.
Hi Bro. Iam idiot , what lese .
Iam basicaly Ok. Nothing broken. My 7idp Project 23 ABS helmet is cracked. But did i great job. I will most brobably buy it again but FG version. It have stiffer chin guard. My lower back is damaged becouse my hoodie have short back protector. So I need to buy kidney belt. Doctors did RTG of head and back, CT of head and ultrasound of belly and everything looks ok. It was in 50km/h. Just my skin on lower back is separated from muscle and inside is blood. This blood needs to be removed. So hope it will be possible without opening me:) and what happen? week before was Xerace. And I do not have race board so Iam trying to tune my. So I use softer bushings for better turns and I let it on my board. Next I ride on unknown area for me with full throttle. And on roads was long crack and behind it was mud. So dead combo was ready:) here is video https://youtu.be/Z2SgbcUF7LA?si=yJP6EGTnhMfcK9_f
Ouch, a speedy recovery!
Thank You !
Jesus. Were you alone?
That is a long time to be out!!!
How fast would you guess you were going?
And all the best healing. Hope to see you riding soon!!!
Also gnarly dude.
That bruise on your lower back is so crazyā¦
Iām going to ride a bit slower the next time I go outā¦
Oooof
Thanx bro. For me 50km/h is max with robust DH bike helmet and other protection. For race just Moto certified helmet. No less. Therefore I would buy again 7idp because it is a robust build or Bell Sanction 2 DLX MIPS looks robust with good ventilation and weight around 1kg. Any other inmold super lightweight helmet I do not believe. I do not want ride slow
Yeah, it was the day after our demo in Berlin to get us legalized.
I was on the Tempelhofer Feld which is a former city airport.
I remember some girls finding me, two medics with an ambulance and security people from the field.
That really was a nasty crash, all in all I was very lucky.
I donāt think I was that fast but it was more of a physics thing that got me.
Thank you for your kind words
Oh man. Now I see Your story. This is exactly Iam afraid. Be switched off alone. Which helmet You had? So hope You do not have any long term consequences.
Any light at the end of the tunnel as far as ending prohibition?
Thanks, the helmet was a TSG pass.
Since Iām not allowed to even raise my right arm above my shoulder for at least six weeks and I was operated only yesterday Iāll give it at least 6-8 weeks without.
I want to heal properly so I can minimize pain later in life.
Iām already or only 40 but I notice some older injuries.
This is my biggest injury so far and I want to see it well healed before doing anything.
Iam 41:) well known what You are talking. You are second person I know had TSG Pass and was switched off. It is not a bad helmet but personally for me is too small thick. Compare with some bike DH helmets have twice less thickness of EPS inside. So wish You all the best and soon recovery.
Yeh thatās the general approach. Currently use this kind of concept but with beefier pads, just want to make stuffing foam in my pants more professional looking!
Ah dudes rough stories sending you healing vibes. @Facko the Leatt kidney belt is good. @exx highly rate my Knox jacket with doubled up shoulder pads. Us mature age dudes gotta take care if you still wanna do 50 at 50 (next year for me!)
Thanks, you too!
@Grazza: is was commended for my helmet and crash vest, I was wearing my Leatt 3DF vest which saved quite a bit of skin and may have prevented further internal damage.
I had bruises on my back from the edges of the crash pads but I was lucky to have it.
I donāt want to deal with broken bones AND bruises.
Iām gonna take it slower in the future, I was also thinking of maybe getting rid of my mountainboard but I donāt know yet.
Glad you were padded up - sounds like it could have been much worse. Still sucks. Heal well and fast.
I popped a second shoulder pad in my jacket, the Knox micro lock compact stuff is thinner but same rating so both fitted - might be an option. My data says it works. https://www.thevisorshop.com/Mobile/en/au/Knox-Micro-lock-Compact--Part-453--Shoulder-L2/m-m-35946.aspx
