How do you like these? I am heavily considering getting a set. How is the sidewall stiffness?

Was waiting on them to release the 8” before I pulled the trigger - shipping to AU is a killer.

Haven’t ridden them yet but set them up tonight and they’re really well balanced - no need for wheel weights which is unheard of in an 8”.

Sidewalls still bulged a tad but could be due to my hubs being wider than the 50mm the tyres are designed for.

I’ll take them for a ride tomorrow and report back.

Im getting the metal slave gears and running these some more. I was pushing these kinda hard and i think they only failed because went free spinning under throttle when i got a little air. Was running across an intersection that was under construction and had some grading being done… was fun but not the brightest move on my part.

I would still recommend these but get newer ones that have the metal slave gears. The old ones i have with the pom slave gears still held up pretty good i think.

I still like these and definitely would recommend them. So quiet and so efficient. Still blows my mind that i can run hard at 30-35mph for 60ish miles trying to keep up with the euc guys and get 28wh a mile?!? How idk

They are definitely the best sounding and feeling drive train experience I have ever had.

Ta for intel - the free spin issue makes sense… remember reading somewhere that’s why apex went all metal. Anyway looking forward to these on my commuter for all the smoothness and stealth others rave about.

About to get back to the future up on the tube tv

Just scored it for $10 at a local resale shop, no power so I think it’s a looker, but still cool

I got a CD player too for my home system

I am finding I like the sound better on the older stuff

A lot of batteries have died…
Many of these are wall decorations these days.

As of right now there are only 7 rideable boards…

Makes sense. @rafaelinmissouri needs at least 8 working boards at a time. :spider:

Mend well mate @Facko , took a spill myself on the weekend but gear mostly did its job - that looks nasty and hope there’s nothing damaged deeper.

I’m working on a d30 ‘miniskirt’ concept for my old bones and will let the community know if it ever happens.
