Why even use licence plates, why not use AIS systems like ships do for literally years?
Every car would need to have its own transceiver built in instead of a cheap metal stamped plate. People probably paranoid about broadcasting identifying info while driving around as well.
Perhaps govt doesn’t want that many radio signals flying around either.
Just guesses though

Like a licence plate does? 
Most new cars already do, also a small transciever is probably cheaper than licence plates, at least here in Germany these things cost 20€ give or take.
Then why doesn’t your country use it?

Oh yeah it looks great! But it would look better if there wasn’t a rectangle molded into the bumper smack dab in the middle.

i’ven’t had much issues not having a front plate on some of the cars i drive 
I didn’t have any issues until I got a ticket
Now I have that ugly mug there because I cba to pay 200 bucks
It was so stupid too - driving through Lone Pine in the middle of nowhere and he pulls me over
“yeah 90% of the tickets I give are no front plate”
MF I really found the single california cop that actually cared

welcome to the FAA and Remoe ID! broadcasting location information of thebpilote and drone while in flight and accessible by anyone who has an app that can read RID. they addressed privacy tho by not requiring that the information be stored after the flight is complete, so it’s only live information
speaking of
it officially goes into effect today for drone manufacturers! wouldn’t be surprised if DJI rolled out an update for all their drones to be compliant today
