Im even thinking of taking the motor apart, but i really dont want to if i dont have to.

Btw updated vesc tool to latest version aswell, and was actin weird a bit yesterday.

I have had motors detect better in Ack than official Tool, and vice versa.

Did you swap motors and see if the problem follows the motor or ESC?

Just ran motor kv calculations 29540 ERPM / (36.4V * 7 pole pairs) = 119kvā€¦but the motor is supposed to be 140kv, is that okay and did I get a free +18% torque?

Itā€™s rather like a PA.

What happens when you hand-test the motors while not connected to any ESC?

I recently had a motor that consistently fails step 6 and which was smoking ESCs, but otherwise appeared normal.

Do it without wheels for a truer calculation.

How much should it go up if I do? I takes about 10 minutes to get the wheels on or off so Iā€™d rather not

Thanks. i knew it wasnā€™t an XH or PH so i have been trying to google for the last 30 min :expressionless:
Danke!

Is that what you meant @mmaner

I donā€™t know, depends on the battery, wheels, gearing, etc.

Yes, if Iā€™m understanding and the issue happens on multiple motors and a single ESC, then logically the ESC is the issue.

I did your whole test method and nothing out of the ordinary.

And @mmaner it follows the motors.
Motor 1 on esc 1 = perfect
Motor 2 on esc 2 = problem
Motor 1 on esc 2 = perfect
Motor 2 on esc 1= problem

Tried with and without sensor, also did all manual checks.

On FOC the motor spins but on BLDC nothing happens.
When doing the setup for BLDC the motor spins up.
After setup = no reaction

I did the whole same procedure on the other motor and no issues.

Ok, the the motor is the issue. Have you disassemble it? It could be a filled bearing offering too much resistance, a displaced or broken magnet, a partially disconnected phase wire, etc.

Conclusion?
Faulty motor :disappointed:

Try manually entering the detection results from motor 1 and driving motor 2 with those values. Assuming both motors are the same make and model and Kv

This is a ood idea.

Mike, arenā€™t you out of town ATM? I forgot. Sorry for tagging you in.

Tommorow I will open up the motor.

Kinda unfortunate since they are brand new, and this is the second brand new item from Flipsky that is faultyā€¦

I have tried to run the motor with the values from the other motor but it does not work either.

@PixelatedPolyeurthan @mmaner @b264

I will keep you guys updated on the situation
