He’s sending it back, that was quick.
Please make this more cryptic.
I think he’s maybe referring to the Raptor hub motors that he owns that were maybe sent to Jeff as a template to maybe make new sleeves from
Half of that is guessing from cloudy recollection though
That is a good memory you have there, all correct.
I’ve been trying not to be cryptic all my life, but if you so desire I can be cryptic as a mummy
Yay for your hubs. not so yay for no future tane. We really need to do something about this.
I shelved my molds after jeff’s venture but I might dust them off and give them another crack at it
I heard Raptor 2.1 Outwheels with reinforcements…Who do we need to kill to make this happen?
Jeff would be a fortune man…dominate the wheel market for all Raptor boards.
Soooo how is your wheels project coming along? How is the Valkyrie running?
I approached a 3-D print artist who told me they have a “up to 30mph” sort of "rubber/urethane/…? That could do the job…
I’ve managed to find me 2 new pair of Raptor sleeves and normally I’l can make an appointment with him halfway next month…(18-09-2020)
Price should be between 30-35$ for each sleeve(if I order just 2).
If he can deliver I’ll post some pics before placing, after placing and after 1 ride and 10th ride.
(To be sure that they live up to the high speed standards)
Greetings all
They not only need to handle the high speed and forces, but also need to do so while being baked at high temperatures.
So Mr Jason Potter finally answered on all the questions I asked him and he released the manufacturer of the original manufacturer of the latest wheels day manufactured. I don’t know if this is already public or not. He mentioned that they still have the forms and fittings for the wheels.
I found their website:
So we all know that the wheels were not able to withstand the speeds and temperatures from the motors. But they are probably the closest guess to anything we could have right now. I am willing to contact them and talk to them through my Chinese friend to clarify maybe a metal mesh insert into the urethane which could help the integrity off the urethane at higher speeds just like on a tire. This will most likely add some bulk to the entire rear wheel.
What you guys think I am on my last set of out wheels
How the hell I got that link then?
dunno, but tradewheel isn’t a company that sells wheels, its just a catalogue website that has a huge database of those companies that listed their product there.
So did anyone tried to reach this company to continue manufacturing… Or even try to fix them?
No shit
So for all the people who are lightweight and dont have heat issues, are pretty much the only eligeable people who’d wana buy new hub sleeves.
In all fairness out of 90mm production they had 2 china made 78A PU formula’s that were actually decent.
But the Wheels marked with -A- on the inside made in California are seriously night and day differance they wear like Ollin Poppca’s (smooth) also 10g) lighter.
On my outwheel that broke a chunk off while riding you can see that the insides of the wheels are completely fine and look fresh. They wore on the outside.
Suggest you use armour all / and glue your chunck back on, if lost - you can rebuild that part or not, but if you dont deal with the cracks/or greease between the sleeves. it can happen
