I’ve always had a thing for kicktail decks. Ever since I bought my first “DIY” board, an Enertion Raptor, I’ve just thought they look so damn cool. So when I saw Tomiboi’s Kanabo, I knew I had to have one.

To start, I really have to give a shout-out to @tomiboi — everything he sends me is such insanely good quality, and his customization’s are always top-notch. Check out this close-ups of this deck… it’s just pure art.

Here are so more shots of the deck, man I love how it turned out.

Of course, no good build these days is complete without a set of @Titoxd1000’s Duality trucks. I picked up these 270mm flat deck versions a few months ago and had them running on another board, but they were always meant for this build. Unfortunately, running the motors toward the inside of the deck was going to be a requirement, and with the stock spacing, that just wasn’t going to happen. It’s a shame, too, because I really liked the shorter wheelbase stance.

Luckily, I had already picked up a set of these slick truck extenders from @IDEA . His aluminum parts are so damn nice, I am always stoked to have a reason to add some of his stuff to a build.

Not quite as sporty looking, but I get to utilize the full range of the trucks motion.

I am excited to finally be able to give these Radium SR125’s a shot as well. Feels like I have been waiting forever to try them. Thanks again, @Tony_Stark!

Nothing too special going on in the battery enclosure. I’m running a 12s5p pack that I built a few months ago using EVE 40PL cells, paired with some Flipsky 6374s and a Maytech trigger controller. They’ve been absolutely amazing — way more power than I need, and everything stays cool to the touch, even after the longest rides.

Tomiboi’s new enclosures are nice, too. They have this awesome texture and come with shiny black bolts — I think they look sick.

Well, I know I am not the best at documenting build progress, but I hope you got a “kick” out of it anyway. I’ve been tinkering for about 12 hours straight, so I think it’s time to call it a night and get some sleep — especially since we have some decent weather going on in Utah. I’m way too stoked to get out and take this thing for a ride tomorrow.
