Ngl, that looks like a total blast XD
Monday action
It was super nice today. Like close to 60.
I had to ride 2 miles to start PT for my back.
The Omakase was the choice. Because it easy to carry around inside. And the way there is mostly smooth roads including some freshies.
I swung by downtown on my way home for a delicious potato knish for lunch.
I had another errand to run.
I wanted to take the Paradigm because it’s the small manageable pneumatics board. Unfortunately my GB remote wouldn’t turn on so I took the EUC.
It was a pleasant ride on the EUC.
Late in the afternoon I had to take Max to an appointment and took the 44 to kill the time.
This was a great choice.
Yesterday was really nice. But apparently I only rode mono wheels.
I got on the EUC for a tiny bit.
But the PXVX got more action.
We went to the playground and I brought it to play with.
I feel so fortunate on mornings I can do this.
Even a tiny cruise at the block helps me wake up and get my body moving.
@alankerr I think I’m on the opposite side of the spectrum and I’m really rusty on the EUC.
I do enjoy it though.
Even mellow rides I feel like a super hero flying around. There is definitely something enjoyable about facing forward and being hands free.
I rode it to the UPS store this morning to return a part I had been storing for @andoug
Esk8 can be snappy.
Had physical therapy today.
Actually timed it door to door and it was less than 8 minutes…
Lynx is a nice wheel. The upgrade to my extreme. lol Extreme is better in the trails tho, but Lynx kills it on streets.
I have a first batch Patton.
I think it’s a pretty good size and it certainly moves me.
I don’t have the ideal springs in the shock though…
Today I finally got around to checking and filling the air on my tire…. I was at 26😬
Yesterday was kinda the last call for nice days.
I got a bit more action on the Almost a Flux.
And took the PXVX in the van for school pickup.
I like days that I get to jump on a bunch of different boards.
Yeah, I’ve used it before. It goes on an angle grinder and it’s mainly for carving and shaping wood great for roughing out bowls, hollowing areas, or knocking down material fast before sanding. It’s a bit aggressive, but it does the job well. Just a regular Bauer attachment, nothing rare or special.
The death of the 44
Today I had a physical therapy Appointment.
I ended up taking the 44. It wasn’t the first choice. But it ended up being the one today.
On the way home the sun had warmed up the day, and I decided to meander on my way home.
I was not too far away, casually rolling down a hill after passing a stop light.
And then he board starts picking up more speed like the throttle was on.
And the brakes didn’t work.
And it kept picking up speed…
but I actually had time to ponder life and decide that I needed to bail.
So I jump and twist to the left to land on my hands and knees and slide.
The gear did its job and I slid and got up in one piece.
The board unfortunately kept going…
And it kept going… and it bounced around I think 3 or 4 times like a pinball. Before it stopped on a planter about 120 feet from me.
There is some serious damage to the deck, drive, motor, and hubs.
I had to call the Uber of shame…
The board is really rocked.
I got some scrapes.
I am glad I had all my gear on and was able to make the choice to bail and fell pretty clean and walked away.
I expect I was going 25+ by the time I came off.
The worst part is this is really getting in my head about how bad it would be if a board like this took off like this and ended up hitting a person…
Sucks to hear, glad you’re mostly ok though. Do you have any telemetry in your RE to check?
I’m glad you’re doing alright. That’s the nightmare scenario right there buddy.
I’m extremely confused how this damage specifically occurred. Any theories?
Bolt head snagged on something, bolt snapped with a bit of the shank left on that rotated out and popped out a chunk of the wood
Was one of your wheels just pinned in reverse when you walked up on it?
I think what Al said. It rolled around upside down a bunch.
One of them was still going forward until I forced a shut down with the power button.. The other wasn’t going because the drive broke…
