Motor makes a weird noise

So I just finished up my build and everything was set up correctly in the software and it worked perfectly but randomly my motor started not working propers as you can see in the video, I have a feeling it’s the sensor wires but I’m not exactly sure what it is, any suggestions?

Does the motor make the same sound with the belt off?

Yuck. Does sound a bit like cogging but yes as stated above take the belt off and see what’s cracking

Alright let me try that right now, what do I do if it is the motor making all that noise?

Then we cross that bridge

Yup so it is definitely the motor doing it do you know what the problem could be?

Ok so it sounds good when spinning up high but shit at low speeds looking at the video. Try smashing the throttle and see what happens.

it jumps straight to full power no problem, it only does that at low rpms

Cogging then. Check your sensor wiring. Then check the set up and make sure its set for sensored or hybrid. Hall sensors just allow the esc to see where the motor is at any one time so theres no delay while it works out which direction it needs to spin. Once you’re moving they do nothing. Personally i think they are more trouble than they are worth but thats just me.

Just for my peace of mind. Throttle real slow and see if the motor judders in place if it does then push it in the right direction and it should spin freely.

could try redoing the wizard yea

yea it does just judder in place until i give it a push, I think I have it setup correctly in the vesc , its weird because I redo the setup and it works flawlessly and then it starts bugging out like that, could that be an issue with the vesc and or im not setting things up correctly? I have the flipsky 6.6 vesc

when I do that it fixs the issue but it goes back to doing this which is weird

Look sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get the motor detection totally nailed. Thats not a shorted motor so you could run detection again. Should tell you if theres a bad hall in there but most of the time it sorts the issue.

Alright I setup so I set it up like that 3-4 times before finally posting the issue, should I just keep trying? It seems to have this problem after I redo the setup then stand on the board for the first time

No bad hall detects?

nope nothing, its such a weird issue I cant figure it out

Ok so that is a little strange. The physical connection is good? By that i mean its not too tight and pulling the connection?

Hows it actually ride?

Yea the connection is solid and after the first little hiccups the ride is perfectly fine, the motor is about 3 years old but I would say it has less than 5 miles on it in total

check the sensor wires, it sound like it is loosing track of the magnets, sometimes the little pins move or get loose from the connector, if you pull them a little it could happen. Also check all the solder joints and bullet connectors.

Bench anomaly brother. Ghosts in the machine. Glad it rides ok because at the end of the day thats all that matters.

Edit is it still cogging on start up?
