Managing parasitic drain on LLT/JBS BMS

Hey all, I plan to use the BMS below for a 14s pack and was wondering if anyone has used this model with the integrated bluetooth and common port design.

Mostly, I’m worried about the BMS discharging the battery too low. If anyone has experience with this model, please let me know if this is an issue for you.

Iirc that model’s drain isn’t too bad. As long as you don’t leave your battery at 0% and check your battery every 6~12months it should be fine

In my experience with this bms, the parasitic drain absolutely can be an issue especially for packs 4p and under. Even on my 14s6p pack, I find its parasitic drain to be somewhat uncomfortable at times. I haven’t put an exact number to it, but I make it a habit to check at least every other week on boards with it that I’m not riding.

Your experience may vary

One extreme end is the SuperRipple I made (10s1p of P50B) this will drain 0.1v per like 4 or 5 days

This BMS draws about 500-600uA during idle. Not too bad.

The Makerx ESC’s are far worse, with DV6s for example drawing over 2100uA when turned off.
