Hoyt St EL2 - How do I seal these gaps

Bought an unfinished EL2 deck and enclosure from mboards, but they didn’t have the gap covers/seals. Any ideas on how I should go about doing that. I’m not skilled enough to 3d print them considering all bends, so my thought was to use kydex to form them. Has anyone done something similar or have another idea?

I’m also going to post a WTB on the off chance someone has a spare set gathering dust.. Yoo never know, I got a ton of shit I need to clear out myself.

I believe there was an injection molded part that fit perfectly into those areas..

perhaps now that Hoyt is no longer, @JJHoyt may be willing to release CAD files for printing?

I thought I deleted this post and replaced it but that would be great!

I think kydex would be a great option for this and although i’ve never used it, it looks like it’d be a fun little project.

I think its sad that so many great esk8 products are lost when a company goes under, it definitely makes you wonder why people would hold onto the IP if it’s no longer working for them.

Jam the hole full of Play-Doh or modeling clay this will make a nice template with correct curves. Then simply replicate in whatever medium you’re comfortable carving

I have the file and it can be 3d printed. Just need to get to my computer.

pretty sure they should have these endcaps at mboards. OzzysPaw did you enquire? These would be better than a 3D printer alternative as they have some necessary “give” to them. If mboards doesnt have them, hit me up at jeff@hoytskate.com and I’ll see what I can drum up (or I just saw that Jackson has offered as well).

Printed in TPU gives the squish needed, it’s how we prototyped them back in the day, remember?

Mboards warned on their sale post that they might not have them and I did ask to send what they could. I ended up getting sheet of neoprene, the enclosure washers/clips and a set of bamboo sunglasses… I was pretty stoked for the sunglasses, and I’ve already connected with Jackson about the files, so no need to hunt down the parts. Very much appreciated tho:folded_hands:.
