Epic build! Saw the ghost boards poly deck and hoped someone would give it a try. Absolutely beautiful execution.

Long story but I’ll shorten it up: I’ve been disassembling and tinkering with hand built electronics since i was a kid and something about the wire management and well done point to point wiring does it for me too. To the point that at one point I found a working analog tecktronics oscilloscope from the 70s that was a huge rack mounted beast and spent a year opening it up and wall mounting it with all the many cards and hand built boards laid flat and exposed so you could see all the vac tubes and wiring and carefully build hand populated pcbs. It went from a cube about 1’/1’/2’ to two full sheets of plywood. My wife named it the robot wall.

If it wasn’t 2 decades gone id share it, but it lives in my head forever as a kind of weight tipping the scales of my decision making process. Im always trying to make things well and beautiful at the same time because of that one oscilloscope that i spent a year disassembling and only just barely understanding.

when people build things by hand it gives them a life that pcbs make too small to appreciate as well or as often. Non pcb batteries may be less profitable and harder to do well - but they are inherently (imho) more beautiful
