Man this is brutal.
4 maybe 5 reheats last night.
We did the most jerry rigged redneck vaccum form with the houshold vaccum cleaner. Worked pretty good. But definitely not pro grade results.
Some UGMO transition areas.
But at this point whats DIY if some part isnt a little sketchy. Or at least BUTT FUCKING UGLY.
And i wanna ride ASAP.
And this will definitely work until i can get an actual company to vaccum form some kydex for me.
More progress from tonight.
DAYUM those cuts are ugly.
Once i get the battery built I’ll bring the enclosure to my shop and make them nice and smooth and pretty. *
Battery build from friday night.
I do not like spot welding. Took all night. But got it done!
18 groups of Six P45B’s.
Also Puck 2.0 is in!
Had @tuckjohn print the Hoyt pro puck 2.0. She chunky! But i dig it.
Thank you Tucker for supervising and teaching me so much.
All soldered up!
2 of 3 packs shown.
Got all 3 set of six done.
Mounted into enclosure.
Didnt grab photos because i needed to get everything done for 5pm-ish. 6 pm train to San Diego.
I’ll get more photos this week. We got the battery mounted, BMS wiring completed. I used an ANT Smart BMS.
Still trying to get the App working and connected. Nothing like downloading a suspicious app for monitoring the cells.
I was able to mount the Top Box for the Dual Solos. Well Tucker pretty much Mounted it. He also printed a GORGEOUS top cover for the mounting box. Switch installed and a basically perfect friction fit for the Solo Heat Sink. He installed the 6 mounting screws and its golden. I’ll grab pics later. Its sweet.
So we managed to get the enclosure mounted at the last possible second so i could take the train. Need too adjust the enclosure and use WAYYYY thinner foam to allow less scraping. I’ll check out amazon for thinner foam.
Things to do for this week
-Fix Enclosure, drill holes for enclosure and Deck inserts.
-Install deck Inserts with adhesive.
-Drill top box for Phase wires.
-Drill top box for QS8 connector.
-Connect megan unit to Dual Solo (Tucker Wired and Installed it on board and ran cable down center of deck.)
-connect Phase wires to Solo
-VESC THINGS
-RIDE
-Bonus- install Gears
I want to thank @tuckjohn.
You showed me how to spot weld and bring up my Solder game to actually usable and safe/strong.
Thank you for the Hospitality for the weekend and staying up till like 12 or 1Am with me for grueling build days.
Thanks for all the help and helping get the battery useable by the end of this weekend.
Cant wait to get Homing Frequency up and running.
Said like I don’t usually stay up until 1am working on board shit every night😁
Can’t wait to see you rip this thing
Hahhahs I’m an Early bird not a night owl.
As you saw my cognition drop rapidly past 11pm lmao.
Can’t wait to race along side ya! Or should I say try n keep up with you. Haha
Maiden voyage was a success.
Only issue was a random remote disconnection. But turns out the conecctor for the reciciever got loose.
Clicked it back in there and I was golden.
Gear drives sound awesome. Different than stooge gears. Im running Super lube synthetic grease to try it out. Might try something with more tacky properties, or a dry/film lubricant for motorcycle chains. We will see.
Need to mess with the Megan Settings and get freedom units saved on it. And update the firmware.
As for performance today.
So much nicer than 12s.
Loads of acceleration. Havent hit full throttle yet. Still have plenty to go. Top speed was 37.2MPH, still a bit rusty. Should improve as i keep skating. Didnt skate much over the past 4 months.
Also running the Puck 2.0. Seems great so far. Throttle seems nice and smooth and responsive. Havent seen a crazy difference compared to the old. But there is something that feels great with it so far. Will update more this week.
Oh dont worry shes got more in her lol.
I’ll record GPS once i get everything set up.
Hit 37 like it was nothing.
She GOES.
I also may need assistance with setting up the Megan lol.
Happy to help on Tuesday
Hell yea. Sounds good to me!
Cracked 44MPH via the Metr App. Not sure if its calibrated but damn she is fast!
Had an over current fault a couple times but never lost the board. Gonna mess with it at track tonight.
Did get a wobble at 44 so that was super sketchy. But glad the board and trucks kept it managed.
Top speed is 46MPH.
Might be able to crack 47 on a completely fully charged battery. But hit 46 a couple times last ride!
