I mean I am using it in 4 Onewheel VESC boards since 2 years no failure yet. I am building another one right now

should work the only thing is the IMU BMI170 if you want it will cost more. (You can not use the cheap pcb option) I buy them separately and solder them myself.

I assume I can simply not populate the IMU, like I’ve done with my Cheap FOCers - right? These will go on an electric mountain board.

I am new to this field. Are there any differences between FOC versions 1.0 and 2.0? If so, what are the differences compared to version 1.0? I am assembling the FOC version 2.0 hardware that I already have. What are the differences between these two pieces of hardware??

the difference is that it uses a different mcu and some small fixes, also the temp problem (motor temp) has been fixed. Rest is the same.

There is no 6.06 binary, someone has to build it. If you manage to apply this patch

to the latest vesc firmware version 6.06 you can build it. I tried but not hard enough, I failed to apply the patch. You can build it with a bmi160 instead of a bmi270 imu, if you solder it yourself (bmi160 is eol, not availabe from jlcpcb but you find it on ali express). Not an easy part to solder by hand, very smal and solder pads under the case. The patch adds support for bmi270 which is not officially supported from the Vedder source in git as of now. There was no pull request submitted, unfortunately. The HW definition part of the FOC King is also added via the patch but that part did not change so it can be reused from 6.05 (I have the files). BMI160 is officially supported. maybe @shambler00117 can help out with a binary for the patched source for BMI270 support. Long term, someone should submit a Pull Request for FOC King2 HW and BMI270 support, that would be the proper solution for FOC King 2 HW support. VESC FW Release 7 is coming at one point…

I would love to buy a foc king and try it. It looks like you can buy a bmi270 breakout board too. Should work with any vesc

You cannot buy FOC King vesc as a product, you need to build it, unless you get one from soneone who built some extras.

There is no support for BMI270 in Vesc FW, at this time!

Yeah i mean to buy the pcb. The patch has all the hardware files for bmi270, should work on all vescs with some tinkering

I would like to ask if there is firmware for this FOC KING that is still in source code form, so not a .bin file, so that in my research, I can modify the firmware on this FOC KING to change HFI Parameters, such as the injection frequency. Because, in the VESC tool, it is not compatible if I use the official firmware from vedder

The GPLv3 software license says there must be. Contact the person you got the .bin file from and they are legally required to give you the source code for it.

The patch is in nordstream repo:
FOC/vesc_updated_source at main · nordstream3/FOC · GitHub . you need to patch the downloaded source code of the vesc with it. thats how i did it . e.g. download 6.06 and apply the patch.
