Flipsky Mini V6 MK5 – Adding extra heatsink on the finned side?

Hi everyone,

I have a Flipsky Mini V6 MK5 (with the small aluminum heatsink and power button). The stock heatsink has very short fins (only about 3–4 mm high) on the outer side.

Since the fins are on the outside, I can’t just press a flat plate against it.

My plan is to fill the short fins with good thermal paste (or use a soft thermal pad) and attach a larger additional heatsink on top.

I’ve attached photos of the VESC, the heatsink, and the thermal pad I already have.

Has anyone tried stacking an extra heatsink on the Mini V6 MK5 this way?

Will heat transfer through the short fins + thermal paste/pad be good enough, or is there a better method?

Any advice or photos of cooling setups for this ESC would be appreciated.
