ERPM@95% Duty Cycle: 42830 Erpm
Phase Current@95% Duty Cycle: 0.48 A
Comments/Observations: It’s not the most recent version of the TB motors, but already has the 10 mm internal shaft, the bearings needs to be replaced

RESULTS

Motor Model: Hoverboard Motor
Rated Current:
Pole Pairs: 15
Phase Resistance: 281 mΩ
Kv: 17 rpm/V
ESC Model and Firmware Version: StormCore FW5.2
ERPM@30% Duty Cycle: 1780 Erpm
Phase Current@30% Duty Cycle: 0.28 A
ERPM@95% Duty Cycle: 5780 Erpm
Phase Current@95% Duty Cycle: 0.18 A
Comments/Observations: Apart from the stator, axle, and a steel band behind the magnets, the motor is entirely made from plastic, also the stator is half the height of most hoverboard motors you can find, absolute crap mechanically, the stator has potential but need to be wound with a high Kv to be useful

RESULTS

Are weird, makes no sense that the current at lower rpm is lower than at higher, something about this motor probably makes the current readings be unreliable

Km = 0.865 [N.m/√W]

ERPM@30% Duty Cycle: 8450 Erpm
Phase Current@30% Duty Cycle: 0.51 A
ERPM@95% Duty Cycle: 27040 Erpm
Phase Current@95% Duty Cycle: 0.52 A
Comments/Observations: Old motor that has been beaten a lot and run really hot for long periods of time

RESULTS

Km = 0.2125 [N.m/√W]

Motor Model: Brand less 6355 180 Kv from AliExpress
Rated Current:
Pole Pairs: 7
Phase Resistance: 25.5 mΩ
Kv: 180 rpm/V
ESC Model and Firmware Version: StormCore FW5.2
ERPM@30% Duty Cycle: 7550 Erpm
Phase Current@30% Duty Cycle: 0.52 A
ERPM@95% Duty Cycle: 24067 Erpm
Phase Current@95% Duty Cycle: 0.89 A
Comments/Observations: For the price I can’t complain, paid $22 on it. No silicone wiring, metal shield bearings, windings is not that great

RESULTS

Km = 0.2713 [N.m/√W]

Motor Model: Boosted V3
Rated Current:
Pole Pairs: 7
Phase Resistance: 35.8mΩ
Kv: 190 rpm/V
ESC Model and Firmware Version: StormCore FW5.2
ERPM@30% Duty Cycle: 9340 Erpm
Phase Current@30% Duty Cycle: 0.39 A
ERPM@95% Duty Cycle: 29740 Erpm
Phase Current@95% Duty Cycle: 0.52 A
Comments/Observations: Bearings are absolute destroyed, but without any load it spins really well, the motor is really quiet, probably due to the curved magnets, and also due that is really smooth to spin by hand
Unfortunately the pulley is press fit and the only thing that holds the motor closed, can only be removed by cutting it in half, and then we are left with a weird shaft to use. I may try to press it out and make a new one, because the rest is really good for a small board
On the bearings, it’s being my understanding why the designed a motor so good and went with metal shield bearings that can’t last as soon as any dirt get insides, these motors I got free from a friend and had less than 50 miles on them

RESULTS

Km = 0.2169 [N.m/√W]

Can’t believe this didn’t get more attention at the tIme.
Is this still up and running?

I haven’t messed with this in a while since I tested all motors I have on hand

In the meanwhile I talked with Justin for eBikes.ca and the way he does is a bit mor precise, using a multimeter on the battery to calculate the power instead of trusting the VESC current, that as I tested is not reliable if precision is required

What I’m working at the moment is taking all my logs from all rides and identifying patterns, where the most time of the torque/rpm curve is spent and all that good stuff

This is for my MTB for all logs recorded, x is speed in km/h and y is wheel torque, the redder, the more frequent it stayed at that point

Ver cool. So I understand correctly that you’re just pulling Data from the controller whilst riding? No actual dyno?

This last image yeah, I’m taking all Metr logs I have and processing them

any progress on all of this?

For now I’ve tested all the motors I have on hand

If you guys manage to do the tests and send the results and can create the maps for any motors

Let me know if it’s too confuse to follow and I see what I can do

Thanks for @rusins for all the following motors, and sorry for taking so long after you put in the effort to gather the data

Motor Model: Maytech 6355 190kv
Rated Current: 55A (65A max)
Pole Pairs: 7
Phase Resistance: 20 mΩ
Kv: 190 rpm/V
ESC Model and Firmware Version: Stormcore 100D FW 5.3
ERPM@35% Duty Cycle: 20602 Erpm
Phase Current@35% Duty Cycle: 0.35A
ERPM@95% Duty Cycle: 55009 Erpm
Phase Current@95% Duty Cycle: 0.37 A
Comments/Observations: Phase current increase suspiciously low, probably due to phase current measurement inaccuracy at low phase currents on the StormCore
