One could hardly say we’re bitching about speedboard. I got no beef. If anything on this thread I feel attacked riding an electric longboard that doesn’t fit the stigma of traditional downhill skating (45” deck and pneumatic wheels).

My take is 4 wheels with motors and a battery that you stand on is an esk8 (and two wheel speed-boards don’t fit that description much as they want it to).

I have a good friend that rides speedboard and he has told me it’s very easy to go fast on a speed board that’s the perspective I’m coming from when I say this:

They have good acceleration and actually achieve higher speeds than esk8 do. I’ve been told they do not get speed wobbles. My friend has done 70mph on his speed board.

Probably have gone 55~60mph at some point, but I can’t be bothered to dig through my Megan logs​

Ahahahah bro just upset cause his top speed is probably comparable to mine, i never learned to kick skate, so i only have experience with my zealot and my 2 diys. my vx4s are in mph even though im a canuck, but my top speed is also only about 38kph my mtb is super loose, been debating changing bushings on the mtb and my street board is good, dont usually check my speeds when motoring on the street board as i need to focus on not dying with my dogass roads but on my way to work when i hit the speed trap on my kicktail i think i may have matched my mtb speed once. I am only 12s and my accel. ramp is stock so im not doing wheelies or setting land speed records, i also dont have full moto gear like i have seen some of you smart people do. So i am not trying to go over 100mph even if i could, my car tops out at 203kph, so i really am not trying to die omw to work. Kudos to all you monsters doing 100+ thats wild and maybe look into tightropes cause if you balancing on a wood block at that speed i feel like the skill might translate

By the way, just a thought — why do we even accept speed readings from VESC units here? Above 60 km/h they rarely match the real speed (it depends on the gear ratio setting), and on top of that, anyone can set whatever ratio they like anyway Just as a heads-up, apps like Megan/Metr/Minie also let you turn on GPS speed, so you can compare.

I couldn’t agree more, gps telemetry is the truest number we can all use to record speeds. Are there any results here that are esc based? I’ve made a few exceptions for the oldest records accepting screen shots from videos. Congrats on the new top speed!

Edit: I noticed tuckers record was esc based and fixed it to be gps.
