I feel that, just remember to not cheap out on a helmet. If you can’t afford a helmet, you shouldn’t be riding. I was 14 riding an ATV, I thought ehh, im just making a short trip. Dead serious, the next thing I remembered was me not being able to answer a doctor when he asked who is the president was. They told me I was not far at all from serious brain injury or death

Yeah lmao that isn’t going to cure.

Like, it’ll still actually work enough. But an un-sounded dickhole sized drop of blue on the very bottom of your threads will do more than red like that will.

I literally just removed some chumblefucks screws that were done like this. Truly less hand-turned effort than blue.

I don’t actually plan on using nearly that much, my mounts both fell of and that was the first thing that I thought of.

if we’re still talking about the helmets this i’ll be honest as to why:

I ride on campus 80% of the time, ranging from 10-15 mph. my board used to top out at 22mph. I have ridden this on the roads, and yes I definitely need a helmet at that point. This new one i’m building will do 30mph and i’ll commute with it. i’ll have a full face at that point because bailing at that i wanna protect more than just my head. Neck and chin need to be intact.

also, i remember bailing on an atv when i was young too. Thankfully I just had a bruise on my chin for a couple weeks.

Trucks giving out from under scare the shit out of me as well, has anyone tried the flipsky motor mount/trucks kit? It’s the only truck/mounting/pulleys i can put together for around $100.

ps. love the tag near my name

I know you’re probably getting annoyed with the helmet thing, but in all seriousness we care about (almost) everyone here

It was a god damned joke

The fact you trust your life with China wave soldering is pretty fuckin funny dude. Think that’s how the MLB or whatever player died on the miles board. Electrical failure on a PCB.

The footprint of this thing is tiny dude. I carry a water bottle possibly full to the fucking brim of Jäger larger than it.

At this point I mostly don’t wear a helmet because I think my typical riding situations need it. I wear it because I can’t stop motherfuckers from hitting me in a car, but more-so because my board could instantly go full throttle without me having any control of it due to an electrical manufacturing flaw.

Friend of my brothers literally died because he drunkenly fell out of the back of a golf cart and managed to land his head on the single fucking rock on the entire golf course. Like, no joke. The only rock.

Esk8 lost a high-profile dude built like a rugby star not too long ago.

Never knew the dude, but he was literally a fuckin hunk who was larger in every way than every other slimy nerd in any pictures of esk8 he’s in lmao. He made some fully grown middle age men look like chillun. Tragic loss.

rest in peace to him first

yall realize i see the same accident/i love helmets/dont be like me threads you do right

@Bindings_McGee you talking about the solder joints on ESC’s and whatnot? I didnt realize that was a huge problem area but i’ll visually inspect. also concerned about the trucks snapping or breaking down on me, heard some horror stories around.

A lot of people think “oh that won’t happen to me” we’re sharing our stories to help people understand better that it happens to everyone

Dude, you can’t inspect inner PCB layers. There is no ‘figuring out’ a failure point that would be caused by a manufacturing error.

They fucking X-ray this shit in industries where millions are on the line.

You’re showing that side of “doesn’t really know what he’s talking about, probably shouldn’t be building something that can kill him”

Buy a prebuilt so your parents can try to sue the manufacturer

you really thinning the line of “hey thats helpful thanks, glad i learned that” and “man just shut the fuck up”

There’s actually a dude on here that can xray and ultrasound PCBs. I sent an Evolve ESC to him. soooo. Kinda? :joy:

Bindings employs a unique approach to life. Don’t take it personally.

Don’t talk to bindings that way, trust me he has more experience with people like you then you do with people like him

No… that’s really not what I’m doing. I guess I don’t understand where you got the idea I think “solder joints on ESC’s and what not” was a “huge problem area”

It’s an absolutely fuckin miniscule problem area.

If you knew about electronics… like you seem to think you do… I think you’d know that.

But there still an minisculy small chance it can happen, and there’s no way to be otherwise ready for it…

Than to…

wear a helmet
