You briefly ran kart tires on a Hearo Bro deck, right? How did that handle on dualities? I was considering doing something akin to that with extender brackets, but like @AdityaAurora mentioned kart tires on his setup that I got to try this weekend felt very strange. I was considering seeing what propel was cooking up with their smaller kart tires if the issue was just rotational mass, but I could also see how switching to a bearing would allow for more precision. Do you just reccomend no flex on the chassis?
You need slicks and absolutely zero torsional flex and not insignificant longitudinal flex for best ride feel, combined with a high duro low rebound bushing setup. Problem is that’s a hard to achieve combination with traditional decks. If you try with a traditional deck, you want some substantial concave all the way to have enough torsional rigidity. The haero is narrower and has no concave in the middle, so in theory it should feel worse for these tires.
The easy way out is to completely rigidify the deck with carbon top and bottom, and run rain tires. But those feel greasy on hot days and generally offer slightly less grip even when working ideally. Also they don’t feel as direct in terms of slip angle, slicks definitely feel better on the edge. Good for cold days though when the slicks don’t get enough temperature to turn on quick enough for a relatively short esk8 race heat. Regarding slicks though I couldn’t get slicks to play well on a setup without longitudinal flex in the tips of the board.
As far as my understanding on this topic goes, a prerequisite for this oscillatory weirdness is soft compound tires. All esk8 tires are comparatively hard rubber. But with kart tires you actually need the soft compound to make it work on an esk8, as soft compounds are more tolerant to lower surface pressures over the contact patch. You can actually also feel something similar to this oscillatory behavior on BRPs. While I didn’t get to try the softest compound radium 125s, what Liam described regarding their behavior seemed a bit similar to this feeling as well. All these tires have in common is very soft compounds.
I didn’t run actual kart tires on the haero. I ran some 9x3.5 lawnmower slicks with a square profile, but they were a bit too hard of a compound. I think it measured somewhere around 72A. In some situations they were really good, but they needed the surface to be just right to turn on and actually grip well enough to race on. Most tracks they weren’t amazing.
I originally designed Duality trucks to have swivel joints as a optional change. I haven’t gotten around to testing them. Looks like it would take a little clearance modification to get working… I can see a case for both options. Metal has no give which is direct but harsh. Urethane absorbs road vibration and significantly increases durability, especially in a crash.
I think there is some room for improvement in the bushing department. I’m dedicating some time on that area.

hope you guys still read the complete information. ![]()
I’m no racer, so this right here is my favorite thing about dualities. I’d pay extra to have even bigger thicker pivot cups in mine lol
@Exwayboard this post was flagged by a handful of members for being spam and appearing to be ai slop. When enough members flag it, it is automatically hidden. I’ve un-hidden it for now. Could you pls revise w a more concise and meaningful response?
Thnx for unflagging it . I think people understood what they had to say . Since we have official representation from Exway, we should create an Exway thread for further discussion
Exway should shill their knockoff dualities in their own thread, not Tito’s.
Seconded.
I read their response and it really sounded like they either ran it through AI, or just copied all the attributes of Dualities.
Interesting that they decided to use a bearing instead of pivot cup. my guess is that would ramp up more road noise and transfer more vibrations.
But yeah they pretty much copied the Tito design. And thats not cool. I come from a Knifemaking background, and there’s a ton of copy stuff. There’s lots of Chinese companies that have taken designs from small makers, or even companies that sell clones. Clones are without a doubt a blatant ripoff. Some are actually really great quality, but a potential customer may not know the difference, especially if they are just getting into knives.
Exway using AI? Like virtually all of their social media posts and fake accounts advertising new boards from the perspective of a “customer”? Nooo wayyy
In all seriousness when I can next free some funds I’m in for 2 sets of dualities ![]()
Hey Exway,
What you have here is an opportunity to step up and do right.
You guys treated me and my crew at edk8con 25 pretty dang good so I will lay this out for you nice and neat.
Send Tito a Direct Message and invite him to conversation. He is the most knowledgeable and on the forefront of the technical side for your undeveloped copy.
A few possibilities that could be discussed.
Entertain the formation of a contractual agreement. Purchading his truck business to business, purchasing his design, or setting up manufacturing that you both would be contracted to share and benefit from.
-
He can cut through a pile of hardships and repercussions that Exway will face bringing this truck copy to market without proper development and testing.
-
A Partnership will bring good face and a legitimacy to your product. People will know somthing is made well and done right if the origionator has his hands in it.
-
Its a real bad look for Exway making an IP grab. Sometimes its the small things that will sink a ship.
There is a right way and wrong way to do things. Some people know the difference, Some do not. Some could care less. Its your decision.
@jamie thanks Jamie, for un-hidden it. just in order to feet some information for riders here.
I understand now why they used AI
If ai is just used to help make translations between languages more accessible and intuitive - it gets a pass from me. Mo better communication between cultures across borders and between people is always better.
Imho when ai is used creatively it just seems to take the life out of everything it touches.
