*DEAD PROJECT* neoBOX Dual (March Releasing)

4mm bullet connectors like any other vesc + most of our motors would be nice to have on by default :upside_down_face:

I disagree. Would much prefer bare wires. Allows end user to add any connector they like without needing to fuck around desoldering.

Good plan Jeff :+1:

but desoldering is easy, and cutting even more so :stuck_out_tongue:

This way it is plug and play for those who can’t solder their own connectors.

You really should be able to solder a connector…maybe an option for just the PCB with parts on and you solder your own wires and connectors of choice for say $5 less

As long as the option is there. If you don’t already own the connectors, just finding them somewhere online + shipping is already 5$. An hour of soldering for 6 of them, depending on how you value your time, also is a lot of money.

There are people trying to build esk8s that don’t know how to solder!? :exploding_head:

well, for bullet connectors you need a powerful soldering iron. I can imagine some kids don’t have that.

It’s voodoo science.:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My tip starts to oxidize quickly…

I wipe it every time before tinning something. It just works. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

wut? I got a cheap 17€ 30w Soldering iron. Well, dunno how “powerful” 30w are in that space.

haha, I’m glad you didn’t see when someone shipped a connector to someone that would solder it.
you woulda lost your shit, lol

20€ for a 60W with a temp control.

With how big the whole community is, I am sure someone would volunteer to do this 5min job.
I even bet old Bob down the road would do it if you got him a beer (@glyphiks can confirm)
Anyway this would save some :moneybag: on the vesc and :timer_clock: for the manufacturing and :construction_worker_man: for Jeff

Can confirm. Will solder for beer.

Let’s just settle this with a poll

  • I would benefit from presoldered bullet connectors
  • I will solder my own connectors, but don’t mind the default ones there and a ~3$ price increase
  • I will solder my own connectors, and want to save those 3$ / makes my life easier to not have them in the first place

Update 2:
Seems like currently 69% of people would be fine with pre-soldered connectors, but since 71% will be resoldering anyway, seems like there’s not much point. However, more people would love it than hate it, so it’s definitely worth having an option for it.

Second bare wires i may use mr60 anyway but 90% chance the wires will be too long or short for enclosure so i will have to redo them.

lol when i said

I knew well we were talking about very little cost lol. But people use all types of connectors so unless a majority uses bullet 4mm then i think we should leave them blank
hence your poll we shall see

Would be cool to have a multi-option poll to see what people use. Personally I only use 5.5mm bullets because they’re the easiest to solder, and all my motors came with them, but I do see the appeal of other types.
