Complete n00b here. Got a Veymax Nymph literally two days ago (despite FedEx’s best efforts to keep it from me). Board works, and the remote does most of what it should, but it’s displaying everything in kilometers, and trying to multiply by 0.62 in my head while riding seems like a bad idea. The manual is exactly what one would expect, and customer service hasn’t been much help so far.
I assume most of these companies are basically assembling various stock electrical components, and am hoping that means I might be able to dig up some reasonable documentation… but I’m not sure where to start. All I know about it is that they call this their V7S remote and mention JECNN.
Yeah, pre-builts board had gotten cheaper and better in the past couple years. At this point unless you’re spending more than 1.5-2k, I’d recommend prebuilt instead.
I have been enjoying the hell out of it. According to the remote, I’ve put 37km on it since Tuesday.
Still trying to work out foot placement, I’ve had a few field-expedient dismounts, and the turning radius is… well, it’s a longboard. But I have no shame, so for now I don’t mind getting off, kicking it in the right direction, and getting back on. I’ll start loosening up the trucks once I start feeling a bit more confident at speed.
Thanks! One of the reviews of this board (esk8unity, I think?) had a Riptide setup he liked. I don’t know enough about any of this yet to know what my preferences are gonna be, but I appreciate the rec and will check them out as soon as there’s some room in this brain.
Honestly I don’t mind the bushings that the higher end veymax board’s come with. Starting with the Merlin series and up. I just ordered a Skyrim with gear drives, I can’t wait to get try that out.
140 miles on the odometer (~120 actual) in the not quite four weeks I’ve had it. Today I was riding across the street to a park, stepped off, and had the… creative idea to see if the board would hop up the curb on its own.
Well, all things considered, I think I can safely say that this is: Not My Scene. (Socially, I mean. I just ordered another board and look forward to lots of solo rides.)
