How’s it going new here located in socal, my dad’s board is a boardnamic deck but changed to run by gears instead of belt, is there a mechanic that can fix it in socal? I believe the gear or something snapped when hitting the brakes

Hoping you’d be willing to share your advice again.
I’ve been looking into LDP for a while and was close to buying a full Pantheon Supersonic setup (Hoku 92mm, Bear Gen 6 155s at 50°/40° effectively 65°/25°, stock bushings). But I realized it’s a pretty big investment for something I’m not sure I’ll fully get into.
What I do know is that I love bombing hills and regularly hit 40–45 km/h on my current setup, which I really enjoy. I’d probably still end up using it for that anyway.
So I’m wondering if it makes more sense to improve my current setup instead.

I like the stability at speed, but I’d love a bit more flow, rebound, and maybe a touch more speed but mainly get some more pump out of it to see if I’d maybe like to get serious about LDP.
Do you think it’s worth tweaking bushings/angles/wheels, or would you approach it differently?

LDP setups are very discipline specific so adapting your DH / Freeride setup won’t get you there, it will just be a hybrid, not good for either use. There are plenty of used LDP setups out there from people that have too many of them or just lost interest. I would suggest the used route for less investment and ease of entry.
Hey @RipTideSports, ive got a set of valkyrie cast that im using on a cruiser I practice slides on. Currently have a set of 85a blue aps Plug cannons the trucks came with which feel nice but i get wheel lift when leaning hard. Im learning to slide them but the lifting makes it feel weird or im just too inexperienced idk. (Has cups boardside and flat washers roadside) i was thinking to swap to 80a roadside to make it stay down for the last little bit of articulation but what do you think? Am i on the right track or should i keep it stiffer to help with my sliding?

I have some softer bushings on there. But nothing proper.
It’s really hard for him to turn…

I also want to pick up some bushings for his caliber trucks.
Those cups will definitely be limiting the turn, swapping those out for flats will help a little bit without swapping bushings

If i were you i’d go flats everywhere. Cups feel gross IMO and just mangle the bushings. Especially those garbage stock evolve ones
Start with flats on the front roadside pair, if you need more turn use all flats up front. Then if you want more, same progression as the front but on the back truck.
I would also like to get some bushings in soft enough duro for a 50 lb kid.
I’m using a mish mosh of unknown bushings going by what feels Squishies in my box…
What formula and duro is best for that?
And what are the best shapes for evolve supercarve 2?
What about for Caliber 2s?
DKP duro for a 50 pounder, i would suggest our kit in a custom durometer, something like 75a. We could easily put that together. For the Cali II’s, what baseplate angles, application and rider weight?
