Little 300 mile update, got a mini for it because I love that shit. Lost two bolts on the enclosure and didnât notice until i got a little crack on the front bolt. Ordered up some washers to spread the load and added some blue vibratite to the enclosure bolts.
Crap gps signal so cut a window in the deck and filled it with epoxy under one of the scales so hopefully it can get a better gps lock.
Lost some chunks due to sharp gravel on smooth trails. The sleeves are taking a beating and im glad i grabbed some extras when i got the motors.
Forgot to take a pic of the gps antenna after i cut the window in the deck, just a smidge of epoxy putty between it and sky now and it seems to lock good.
Damn this board is fun to ride. So pretty too.
Ok, so Iâve gotten so much better at tweaking settings from messing with the bog roosh that this has made it back to the bench. My usual policy of âno touchey, worksâ will have to be slightly abridged. Maybe i can improve the 0 speed torque a smidge, maybe not
Also this thing gets a lot of garage session time with the wet weather it needs a little check and clean.
Wheels too chunk, new cx trucks and sleevies time. Much more fun now. Was feeling like riding a tonka truck after riding better looser trucks on everything else and i was starting to pick other boards over this one because the flow was off.
So much more lively and playful. Still getting a smidge of wheel bite on the enclosure. Only when leaning super hard but ill address it later when i have more funds. I think im going to shrink the battery down to 12s2p and do a single stack enclosure eventually. For now the weather is good and pavement is fresh.
Might just drop a cup washer boardside to choke up a little on the rear after i get a few rides in and get the feels
I love this little board so much.
What is up with the new trucks?
Well aside from putting them on backwards at first the paris 50° originally on there just felt stiff and boring when set up to avoid wheel bite. Ive been spoiled by the singularity and dualities - i want to lean into the carve more.
The cx trucks are from my loaded tangent surf skate complete i got a while ago. Though they were fun i couldnât ever really lean into them without getting wheel bite also - just the geometry didnât quite mix with the tangent deck at my weight (200lbs). Low speed u turns and sometimes trying to build speed pumping it would bite. Couldnât get them adjusted to fix or avoid it and i threw every bushing i could at em. Just needed more clearance and i didnt want to put a different drop bracket on the tangent as the shorter platform is what i wanted.
Wanted more fun (lean) from the koi so on went the cx trucks and the clearance is actually better running them on a regular short kicktail. This winter ill rebuild it single stack and get rid of the risers i have (1/4â front and back) but for now this is lots of fun.
Donât think it will pump great but the surfy feel is there. Can do better but this is good for now.
Hard to tell because they are so funky but i had the rear truck reversed in the front and the front truck reversed in the rear. Test ride was SHORT! Knew exactly what i had done immediately
I have a Murder-Hornet that I set up with Carver cx trucks and loaded hubs. Honestly, itâs one of my favorite Esk8s of all time. So much fun.
You guys make me wonder if Iâm choosing the wrong type set up for my loaded hubsâŚ
Man, kick tail for the win. I grabbed that bustin sportster that was pickup only from new mexico and though it is good itâs not as nice as a kick tail for maneuverability and hopping cracks and kachunks.
Another part of why im contemplating a battery downsize is to make using the kick tail nicer by dropping weight and shifting the center of mass back towards the rear.
Whatâs your setup again? Was looking but cant find the build thread easy and im lazy .
