Recently I had issues with 2 packages shipped through USPS to international customers.
The first package got damaged. It looks like it was ran over at some point along the way.
The second was lost once it entered France.
Neither of these packages had insurance on them since the First Class Mail option was used. This is the cheapest international shipping option through USPS, though it is not that cheap at $14.25 for most countries. To get insurance on these packages through USPS I would need to use the Priority Mail option, which is around $32 for most countries. With the uSplit costing $30 by itself, charging ~$32 for shipping is, imo, pretty laughable.
Iād like to know if anyone who ships internationally from US has suggestions for reliable shipping that doesnt cost an absurd amount and has insurance for cases where the package was lost or damaged?
Tiny object could be protected with v. SMS all & tough hard plastic case from the usual places bought in multiples of 50, then use the same rough post?
DHL or any type of courier service charges ludicrous brokerage fees and your parcel is guaranteed to go through customs and get charged the maximum possible tax.
It is literally a non option for EU customers.
Especially for small value items let the buyer make the decision.
Well, I was one of those disappointed senders until I decided to stop using those big-name couriers when shipping from the US to Europe. They wasted too much of my nerves, time, and money. I discovered AEC Parcel Service and so far they did not disappoint me. Always good rates and perfect customer support. Plus they have free parcel insurance.
I use them to ship from US to Romania, but I know they ship to the majority of European countries.
